Coronavirus: Trump cuts WHO funding

Donald Trump has suspended funding for the World Health Organisation, accusing it of ‘covering up’ the spread of the #coronavirus.

As the WHO’s largest donor, the US provides $400 million of its $6 billion budget.

Many have criticised the move to cut money for the agency given its crucial role in fighting the coronavirus and some have suggested it’s an attempt to deflect attention from the Trump administration’s failure to act quickly to suppress the virus.
